George wishes it to be known that he is The Saddest Cat In The Universe™.
Just so you're aware.
Life with me is a pit of suffering, despair, and angst. He's been HOWLING all morning.
Cats.

My day was actually going fairly well until Linda phoned me to tell me that she'd just learned her Mother in California had died.
I didn't know my Mother-in-law terribly well, so I'm not nearly as shook up as Linda is. We had been expecting news like this for some time, as Linda's Mom was in really poor health, but she had seemed to be showing slight improvement lately.
So, now begins the mad scramble to get Linda to California to help her Sister deal with all of this. We're still working out exactly when she needs to go, and for how long.
I'm watching Fringe.
( Season 1 finale spoiler warning! )
Appointment at the gym this afternoon. Am now a temporary resident of the Land of Owie™.
Writing has been a slog. With luck, that will improve.
It's weird to be off again after only two days of work. I think I'm going to enjoy this new schedule. :)
( Depressing stuff that's not all that interesting )
The boys in their costumes, just before trick-or-treating!
And our Hallowe'en dinner: Stew-in-a-Pumpkin!

heee!
Happy that my Utilikilt is on its way. Finally. I got them to ship it USPS because UPS would have Screwed me for over a hundred dollars in fees. But ya my Utilikilt.
woot.
HRH.
ETA; Just talk to Johnny the shipping guru for Utilikilt, He's going to ship my Kilt UPS but as a gift for services render, that way I get my kilt faster and it will not cost me half the cost I paid for the thing in the first place. Very cool indeed.
Most of you are way smarter than me. And thus I turn to you in my hour of need.
Suppose I wanted to create a Google map with various categories. Click this filter and see all the airports. Click this one and see all the train stations. Something like that. There must be a simple way to layer one map so I can have all my information in one place, right?

OK, tonight I tried "Holiday in Cambodia" & "Flosome Prison Blues". I did well for a first run. I'm looking forward to being able to keep up with a recording of my favorite band doing both.
The rest of my line up I can play well and I do not need the TAB notes sitting in front of me.
Still having troubles with the rock and blues bass line but with time it will smooth out.
Now if I can just keep up with the guys in invisible playing PPK (peter gun bass line) I'll let my self go to bed
HRH.
(11:15pm, So close! but my fingres are going numb so I need to call it a night.)
Because I know you've been wondering what Obama would wear if he were in Montreal this week.
Okay, first thing's first.
Storyboard work!
I'm getting part of a storyboard to do on Arthur (season 14!?), something of a trial. There are several other artists being given other parts to do. This is the beginning of the production, so if this works out, I'm going to get several boards to do. So, fingers crossed!
Second thing:
I'm doing Potty Training Boot Camp with Sam. After months of putting off getting Samuel potty trained due to lack of time (work, commute, social engagements, work, construction, commute, you get the idea). So, I followed my mother's advice and decided to keep Sam home from daycare and train him, while I'm currently unemployed. We started yesterday. Well, Sam's had a health glitch: he started the day with explosive diarrhea! This actually worked out for the better. Once the most of it was through him, it turned out to be a good teacher on how to release his bowel movements. Peeing was a different issue, but it seems that today, we've achieved peeing on demand. Woot! Now, we need to get Sam to realize when he needs to pee, and to go do it in the appropriate place.
There's another possible contract, for which I need to make a quote. I'll have to spend the time on this when I'm not focusing on potty training...
Anyways, I better get back to my meatballs. I'm attempting Stealth Vegetable Meatballs in tomato sauce... wish me luck!
November 11 isn't only Remembrance Day here in Canada, it will also be the anniversary of Emru's death.
I want to honor him with a My Neighbor Totoro pin but I don't know where to get one. I hope someone on my Flist does.
( You clearly have excellent taste in fandoms! )
Thank you for the work you're about to do, and I look forward to reading your story on the big day! :D
It's not quite a Class 3 zombie outbreak, but we have two members of the OCC down for the count, one with a confirmed case of H1N1, the other with a suspected case, and definitely some kind of flu.
Bizarrely, I am still unfussed, although we are quite short-staffed at the moment. I still think this is all being blown way out of proportion to its merits.
In the meantime, the office REEKS of Lysol and is giving me a serious chemical-induced headache.
Me: "RCMP-GRC Montréal, bonjour, good morning!"
Caller: "Is [Officer's Name] there?"
Me: "I'm sorry, that section is closed until 0800. Is there an emergency?"
Caller: "I wanted to speak to [Officer's Name]."
Me: "I'm sorry, they're not in the office until 0800, in one hour from now. Is there an emergency?"
Caller: "No, it's fine. When are they going to be in?"
Me: "At 0800, in an hour."
Caller: "Okay, I'll try back in ten minutes. Bye!" *hangs up*
Me: *head connects violently with desk*

GLEE!
current mood: sick
So for the past couple of days, I haven't felt great. I have a fever that's kinda like the in-laws: it comes uninvited, stays too long, eats all the food, leaves abruptly, and then comes back uninvited. So sometimes I feel fine, and then I feel awful.
I had a high fever last night, complete with the feverish dreams, which are those horrible nightmares that you can't force yourself awake from. No fun, lemme tell you.
So I've been on hold with Info-Sante for about 45 minutes, which I believe to be a good indication of the time I would spend waiting in a CLSC to be tested (if you multiply the time by 10), which depresses me to no end.
But according to the Info-Sante website's Decision Sheet, and after just speaking to the Info Sante Nurse finally, I don't have the flu (regular or H1N1). I just have a regular cold, which is what I figured anyways.
Blech... I hate being sick.
